What is permanent outdoor lighting?
Short answer
Permanent outdoor lighting is a slim LED track fitted into the eaves of your home or building once, colour-matched to your trim so it disappears in daylight. At night it runs anything from warm white to full colour, controlled from your phone.
How is it different from Christmas lights?
It stays up, and it stays invisible. Seasonal string lights go up on a ladder in November and come down in January, and you pay for that twice a year forever. A permanent system is fitted once into a track that follows your rooflines and matches your fascia colour, so from the street in daylight you see a clean home. The difference in practice is that you stop scheduling your December around a ladder.
What does an install actually involve?
A design pass on your rooflines, then a fitting that is usually finished in a day. We measure the runs, colour-match the track to your trim, mount it into the eave line, run the low-voltage wiring back to a controller and hand you the app. You are not left with a box of parts and a manual.
Can you see the track during the day?
That is the whole design goal. The channel is slim and colour-matched to your fascia, and it tucks into the eave rather than sitting proud of it. Most people looking at a finished install from the street cannot pick out where the lighting is until it comes on.
Does it work in Idaho winters?
The systems we fit are built for outdoor use in a climate that swings from snow and ice to hot dry summers, which is exactly what the Magic Valley does. The track sheds water, the fittings are sealed, and there is nothing to take down before a storm.
Good questions
Do I have to take it down in January?
No. That is the point of it — it stays up year round and simply changes what it is doing.
Will it damage my roof or fascia?
The track is designed to mount into the eave line without compromising it. We survey the roofline before we quote so there are no surprises on the day.
What happens if one light stops working?
Call us. We installed it, so we come out and fix it — you are not chasing a manufacturer through a call centre.
Can it go on any roofline?
Most, but not all. Some rooflines and materials need a different approach, which is why the quote starts with someone actually looking at your house.
Is it bright enough to be useful, or just decorative?
Both. Warm white along the eaves reads as architectural lighting and genuinely lights the approach to the house; the colour modes are there when you want them.
